About RDI
Rural Dynamics, Inc. (RDI) is a statewide financial empowerment center that provides programs to help people achieve financial wellness.
We are working towards a future where everyone is able to access equitable economic opportunities in our communities.
Along with financial education, our nonprofit offers no cost tax services, financial and housing counseling, special needs trusts, payee management, and assistive technology lending.
Our programs and partnerships all provide pathways to building financial resilience. We also utilize indirect or upstream strategies such as forming coalitions, leading communications, capacity building for poverty reduction, and advocacy support to meet our mission.
Our nonprofit provides all services and programs statewide in Montana.

Programs & Services
Representative Payee
We assist retirement or disability beneficiaries to help successfully manage finances and benefits including monthly budgeting and bill payment for those who do not have a reliable friend or family member to assist with financial obligations.
Pooled Trusts
Rural Dynamics is the organizational Trustee of the Montana Families Trust. In collaboration with DPHHS and DA Davidson, we administer these first and third party trust accounts for beneficiaries living with a disability.
Assistive Technology Loans
The Montana Assistive Technology Loan (MATL), provides individuals with an opportunity to purchase assistive technology such as general aid devices, home/vehicle modifications, prosthetics/orthotics, and communication devices.
Tax Help Montana (THM)
Tax Help Montana (THM) is a coalition of community partners, working together to provide no-cost tax preparation and access to other financial services.
Financial Coaching
Leveraging financial literacy expertise with local partners to provide financial coaching for organizations and employers to help any and all of us make the smartest decisions with finances.
AmeriCorps Intermediary
The program partners with nonprofit & government agencies to leverage poverty reduction resources, build capacity, and strengthen community volunteerism throughout Montana.
